A modern fusion of colour and texture, this collection from the North East’s innovative salon group Contemporary Hairdressing boasts both bold silhouettes and daring contrasts
‘When we started planning the collection, we wanted to focus on a palette inspired by precious metals – bronze, gold, platinum’ says Alan Simpson, Managing Director at Contemporary Hairdressing. ‘We created a feeling of contrast by adding in shimmering pastels for a futuristic, ‘space age’ feel. With the cuts, we chose shapes that complemented the colours: a bold fringe and sleek finish to optimise the incredible shine in a lilac-grey and tumbling curls shot through with accents of silver and rose gold.’ The resulting collection is bold but approachable with an intentionally commercial edge to appeal to Contemporary’s nine-strong group of salons. ‘Our clients are forward-thinking and fashion conscious, so these looks offer trend-led colour palettes and strong shapes but have a consumer friendly feel that can be played up or diluted according to their personal style’ says Karen StorrSimpson. ‘We opted for lots of natural texture and an undone finish that’s effortless looking and easy to recreate.’
